When's the best time to come?

If you like serious waves peak season is the best opportunity for this to happen. May to September.

If you like mellower waves your scope can be extended to include March to November.

If you want waves in the 2 – 5 foot range December – February is great with less people out at the islands.

Huey’s 7.2m tender is perfect for splitting up the guests with different abilities so if the waves are too heavy or too soft it’s off to a different break nearby.

How many guests can Huey take?

Huey is licensed for 12 guests but a maximum of 10 is a good number for non group bookings.

Group bookings 11 or 12 guests by request.

When can I fly in and out of Padang?

If you charter dates were 2nd – 14th August you could arrive before 5pm on the 2nd and fly out on the 14th after 8am.
We can also make it back for the early 0600 flights if required. Telo departure/arrival times change by 4 hours.

How many days do trips go for?

Generally Huey does 10 – 13 day trips. More or less can be arranged by request.

A day is a counted as a full surfing day. We arrive at dawn on the first day and depart at dusk on the last day.

So an 11 day trip is 12 nights onboard.

What's included in the trip?

Airport transfers, next level food, soft drinks, use of speed boat. The first 25 – 30 cartons of beer depending on amount of days. Use of Canon camera. Please bring a hard drive and or laptop.

What's not included?

Sat phone usage. Internet costs. Extra beers, wine and spirits. These can be ordered for you with 60 days notice. Price list availabe on request. Charged at cost price. If you require a professional photographer we can organise one for you. 90 days notice required and prices vary.

How crowded is it these days?

With more boats plying the islands and more land camps popping up there are a lot more surfers than the glory days.

However Huey goes the extra mile to break away from the pack. We love burning the fuel. There’s still plenty of lesser known breaks with less people.

We also work in with the other cool operators to rotate guests if there are a couple of boats in the channel.

Can you accommodate dietary needs?

Yes Cookie has been onboard Huey for 20 years so he can look after your dietary requirements. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, seafood allergies etc etc
Let us know prior to travel.

Can I charge my phone, camera etc.

Yes Huey has universal power outlets in the TV room. Guest cabins and wheelhouse have Indo and Aussie outlets.

Who has the best Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all guests onboard. Click the link here for a 10% discount for Aussie travellers.

Should I bring a big board?

With a 16 day forecast now available we can usually tell if it’s going to be big or not so no need to lug that big board unless there’s a big swell coming.
